Here’s what you can expect to be included when I or a second photographer covers the groom’s morning:

We begin with the small things—the cufflinks gifted by his dad, the scent he wears only on special occasions, the boutonniere carefully pinned to his jacket. These personal items help tell the full story and bring a touch of intention to the images:

• Shoes, watch, tie, cufflinks, cologne
• Vow book or letter (if shared)

2. Getting Ready Moments

This is where personality shines. Whether the vibe is low-key with a drink in hand, or full of jokes and good energy from the groomsmen, we capture it all with a documentary approach. These moments include:

• Candid interactions with friends or family
• Helping hands tying ties and buttoning jackets
• Final touches in the mirror
• Portraits during and after getting dressed

3. Group Shots and Celebrations

Once everyone is ready, we’ll take a few casual group photos and any portraits that feel natural and relaxed. Think:

• Full-length groom portraits (both posed and candid)
• Portraits with groomsmen (time permitting)

How to Prepare for a Smooth and Successful Groom Prep

To make the most of your getting ready photos, here are a few quick tips:

• What to Wear: The groom should be ready to dress in undershirt and pants right before we arrive or shortly after. We will put on the tie, jacket and shoes together. Don’t forget to steam your suit ahead of time!
• What to Gather: Have all your details in one spot for easy access. This includes:
  • Suit and jacket on a nice hanger
  • Shoes and socks
  • Tie or bowtie
  • Watch, cufflinks, and any accessories
  • Cologne
  • Vow book or letter (if writing one)
  • Boutonniere (don’t pin it just yet—we’ll help!)
• Who Should Be There: Your groomsmen, close friends, or family—anyone who helps you feel relaxed and happy. If your getting ready space is small you may want to limit who is in the room with you. Try to keep the space tidy and the vibe calm so we can focus on the real moments without stress or clutter.
